PTCOG 64 Facility Tour at Cyclhad: Discover the Future of Cancer Treatment

Join us for a unique opportunity to visit Cyclhad, one of the few particle therapy centers in Europe, located in Normandy.

This advanced facility, bringing together leading research and technology, is dedicated to advancing cancer treatment through multi-particle therapy. During this guided tour, you will gain insight into the technologies and research that are transforming cancer care.

We encourage early registration to ensure participation in this exciting event. Registration for the facility tour is available via the PTCOG 64 registration form.

Why Cyclhad is a Global Leader in Particle Therapy

CYCLHAD is far more than a treatment facility. It is a hub of scientific, clinical, and technological innovation, embedded within an exceptional ecosystem that brings together a leading cancer center, a university hospital, world-class research institutes, and higher education, just minutes from the sea.

Since 2018, CYCLHAD has been delivering proton therapy in close partnership with the Centre François Baclesse, surpassing 30,000 treatment sessions to date. The center operates the IBA ProteusONE system, which currently treats the highest number of patients per year in Europe (IBA data), reflecting both clinical excellence and operational maturity.

CYCLHAD’s ambition extends well beyond today’s standards. Specializing in proton, carbon, and helium ion therapies, the center will reach a new milestone from 2028 with the C400 IONS accelerator from NHa (Normandy Hadrontherapy) the world’s first compact multi-ion system dedicated to cancer treatment. This breakthrough technology will position CYCLHAD at the forefront of next-generation particle therapy.

Highlights of the Cyclhad Tour

  • An introduction to the facility’s state-of-the-art technology, mission and the operational practices that ensure the highest standards in proton therapy delivery.
  • Experience the precision of ProteusONE, which delivers proton beams from any angle, including non-coplanar geometries.
  • A deep dive into Cyclhad’s specialized approach to treating skin cancers using particle therapy.
  • Witness the future of cancer treatment with the C400 IONS system, which will offer treatments with protons, carbon ions, and helium ions starting in 2028.
  • Discover how Cyclhad employs non-invasive distraction techniques to treat pediatric patients without the need for general anesthesia.
  • Learn about the leading-edge research in radiobiology, medical physics, and advanced instrumentation that supports both clinical applications and scientific progress.
  • Meet with researchers and scientists from the radiobiology, imaging, dosimetry, and AI labs to learn about the collaborative research happening at Cyclhad.
  • Enjoy a selection of refreshments and some special surprises during your visit.

Visiting CYCLHAD during the conference offers a valuable opportunity to explore an operational proton therapy center and to gain an exclusive first look at the installation of a world-first multi-ion accelerator, within a campus designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and translational research.

CYCLHAD embodies the future of particle therapy—and PTCOG 64 is the perfect moment to experience it firsthand.
